The Prescreen ASVAB can be used to predict how well you will do on the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
The Prescreen ASVAB can be taken in any location where you can gain access to the internet. Possible locations include home, library, school, or even a recruiter’s office. For best performance, the location should offer the opportunity for 2-3 hours with no interruptions. The internet connection should be high speed. Mobile devices such as a smart phone or tablet computers should not be used.
You should not look up answers to test questions or obtain answers from others as your final score will NOT be representative of your ASVAB score. USE only your knowledge to answer the questions- do not use unauthorized assistance. As you take the test, you should have a pencil and scratch paper in front of you for any figuring you need to do. Any other materials should NOT be used, including reference books, internet sources, a calculator and other such help.
To take your Presceen ASVAB use a computer with Internet and go to the following web address:
Your Access Code will be provided to you by your recruiter: This is UPPER and lower case sensitive
You must use Internet Explorer or Google Chrome as your internet browser to take the Prescreen ASVAB.
The Access Code is valid for 30 days from the date and time of this registration. After the Access Code has been used, you have a maximum of 48 hours to complete the test. If you are not able to start the test or complete a previously-started test within the time limits, FOR ANY REASON, you will not be able to register for the test again.
If your AFQT score is too low after five subtests the test will end, and the remaining five subtests will not be administered. However, if you complete all 10 subtests, you have a maximum of 30 days from the completion date to verify your Prescreen ASVAB score at a MEPS or MET site. If you have any further questions regarding this please contact your recruiter.
A “Verification” test (Vtest) can only be administered to an applicant who has taken the PiCAT (Prescreen ASVAB) test within the last 30 days and obtained an AFQT score of 25 or above. As well, the applicant must have not taken the ASVAB prior to Vtest. Vtest verifies the applicant’s PiCAT score. If Vtest is successful, the PiCAT score becomes the applicant’s score-of-record. In the event the Vtest does not verify the PiCAT score, a follow-on ASVAB will be administered, and that ASVAB score will then become the applicant’s score-of-record.
Once you have completed the Prescreen ASVAB Test please let your recruiter know.
